Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on the 21st of September of 1983 in Worthington, Ohio, is an American actress. Maggie Grace is most well-known for her role as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills and Kim Mills in ABC's Lost TV show. She was born in Worthington, Ohio and dropped out of high school after her parents separated to go in Los Angeles to live with her mother. While struggling financially she landed her first role as Rachel's Room's main character the online video series Rachel's Room in the year 2001. She went on to earn an Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 with her portrayal of fifteen-year-old victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder which aired in Greenwich. Grace Rutherford played the lead actor in Lost during its initial two seasons. In 2004 she received the Screen Actors Guild Award with all the cast. Grace left the television series in the year 2005, to take on a more significant role in films, having appeared in the film Taken alongside Tom Welling as Kim Mills in the film Taken. She was on the screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 and Taken (2008) alongside Liam Neeson. The role was reprised for Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the lead role Alice In Malice in Wonderland a modern adaptation of Lewis Carroll's book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon in Lost in the series, which included the conclusion. In 2013, she appears in Californianation, the 6th Season. She is Faith, a groupie who is a muse for celebrities and attracts the eye to Hank Moody (David Duchovny). She is part of Gyllenhaal's family, and is the older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began in the teen years with minor roles in several of his films. She also appeared together with her brother in popular cult film Donnie Darko (2001). Then she appeared in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal's leading roles in Secretary, a romantic comedy-drama erotico, and Sherrybaby (a film) received her nominations for Golden Globe Awards. The Dark Knight, which was released in 2008, following numerous highly successful films, including World Trade Center (2006) and World Trade Center (2006), earned Gyllenhaal more fame. After her successful performance as a single mother of Crazy Heart (2009), she earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. The following years she appeared in comedy and dramas: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012. The actress also was a Secret Service Agent in White House Down which was an action-packed thriller released in 2013, as well as a singer in Frank (2014), and her role as the main character on The Kindergarten Teacher, a drama that was released in the year of 2018. In 2021, Gyllenhaal was able to make her writing and directing debut with the psychological drama The Lost Daughter for which she received the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated to win the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
